Biography

Originally from Southern Indiana, Duncan Kirk Bohannon is a composer and pianist based in Los Angeles, CA.

Duncan’s deliberate, meticulous approach to music composition, scoring and production has served him well. Documentary director Steve Childs (And We Will Dance) said the composer’s work “gave a much richer, deeper experience for the viewer. I loved his attention to timing and detail.” In 2011, Mr. Bohannon wrote music for NBC’s Chuck and FOX’s Human Target under composer Tim Jones, who said, “The maturity and skill [Duncan] brought to the job is surprising, considering his young age.”

By 21, Duncan had already earned two bachelor’s degrees in music from Indiana University and a master’s degree in Film Music Composition from the North Carolina School of the Arts. At present, his array of credits includes feature films, audio dramas, media for non-profits, web video, custom music libraries, and over 15 short films. He is also a prolific piano accompanist, playing regularly at USC, AMDA College & Conservatory, and several churches across Los Angeles.

Duncan currently lives in Glendale, CA, with his wife and daughter.
